Beautiful Apartment Astara in Noho, Manhattan – New York.
Description
There’s plenty to look at inside this artist’s loft in Noho. Nooks carved out of the former warehouse are decorated with colourful rugs, antique furniture and collections of religious statuary. The host’s own art is also on display, gilding the exposed brick walls and cast iron beams of the industrial space. In case it wasn’t obvious, the host is a painter whose exhibited in Taipei and Hong Kong – Astara is her latest billing.
It’s not just the art on the walls that’s unusual. There’s a babbling water feature in the reading nook of the open-plan living and dining room. The kitchen is just on from here, and piled with Chinese cookbooks. While along again, the focal point of the master bedroom is an antique canopy bed, a carved heirloom draped with fabric to create a room-within-a-room. The master bathroom is as soothing, its wood-trimmed tub and slate walls a nod to the building’s heritage.
